Summer Activities 2017

Wednesday 2nd August - Thursday 31st August

This summer every Wednesday and Thursday will be a fun filled morning of children's activities, crafts and games inspired by our new exhibition Past the Final Pages.

The five different themes are selected children's books that left a lasting impression. 
£4 per child (4+)

Adults and children 3 and under FREE
Booking is recommended as there is limited capacity.  Details to follow. 

Refreshments will be available from our Tearoom. The whole Museum site will be open except the Headmaster's House.

We’re all mad here
Follow us down the rabbit hole for an absurd Alice in Wonderland Tea Party. Design your own hat and cupcake for the celebration and help us paint the roses red. Don’t worry if you are a little bit mad “the best people usually are.”

Midnight feasts and mischief
The boarding school antics of Angela Brazil's novels set the scene for this crafty day. We’ll be making prefect badges, designing your ideal school uniform and gathering supplies for a late night dorm feast. Look out for a few cheeky pranks too.

Detective Adventure
There’s a mystery to solve. Inspired by the summer holiday escapades of the Famous Five we need your help to find the stolen treasure. Crack the codes, reveal the secret messages and follow the clues. Don’t forget to take Timmy the dog along too. Spiffing.

Marvellous Science
Just like George and his medicine we are going to experiment and create. Make your own fluffy slime, blow brilliant bubbles, launch a rocket and investigate the mystery smells. No Grandma’s will be harmed in the making of these activities.

Are you potty about Potter? Join us for a magical morning of creative activities themed around everyone’s favourite young Wizard, and see if you can catch a golden snitch. Muggles welcome.
